Chapter I:

1. The Race: The 6 hours Enduro of Thailand hereinafter referred to as The Race or The Event, shall take place from Saturday 23.August 2008 to Sunday 24 August 2008 on Highway 36 at the Motor Sport Center near the Shell Petrol Station and Bira Circuit near Pattaya. It is an International race geared towards amateurs and licensed Enduro and Cross drivers.
The rule "First come - First Served", shall apply, up to a maximum of 30 -40 teams,
The organizer shall Organize:
= accommodation on Saturday night
= meals on site for Saturday & Sunday
The Race shall be organized as per the following regulations, which have been translated so that they can be understood by foreign and Thai teams. However, in case of dispute, only the English version shall be taken into consideration,
The present document is subject to modifications and changes if need be and shall be edited on this web site.

3. The Race Package and Payment Options:
  • The complete organization and management of the Race.
  • One official trial day of 3 hours for each team ( Saturday).
  • The Race riming and riming system.
  • Medical assistance during the Race
  • The Trophies for the winning teams and numerous cash and other prizes. Payable Options:
  • Accommodation in a hotel in Pattaya
  • Meals on site for Saturday and Sunday lunches
4. Composition of a Team:

Each team shall count a minimum of 3 Riders and a maximum of 4. Each of them shall have to Ride at least 30 minutes, and maximum 60 minutes (one hours), otherwise, unless prior agreement from the Organizer, the team shall be penalized.

The Rider must be at least 15 years old at the time of racing. The Organizer has the right to consider exceptions if justified.

To be allowed to request an under aged Rider to take part of the race, the young Rider must Prove his Riding ability.

All Riders less than 18 year old shall have to produce to the Organizer a duly-signet parental authorization to participate to the Race.

The team must elect a team manager, sole authorized interlocutor with the race management team.
5. Entry of a Team:

Entry is based on a First come, First Served basis. To be accepted, a team must count at least 3 Riders and not more than 4. the final day for entry is 4 days prior to the race.. In addition to the payment ofthe entry fee, the team shall have to produce all the necessary documents and invormation required in the „ Team Entry Form „

The final composition of the team must be submitted to the Organizer not later than

 10 "ten" days prior to the race..

 The Following documents are required:

  • The Team entry form duly filled up and signed.
  • An I.D. Two photograph of eachRider  (  jprg format )
  • The Riders racing licence.
  • For non licensed Riders, FIM will provide on site temporary racing license valid for the duration of the event. Pleas provide a medical certificate allowing you to Ride Enduro Events.

1.            6 General Conditions of Withdrawal:

6.1:
In case of withdrawal of a team before 10 days prior to the race day. the organizer shall keep 25% of the amounts paid.

6.2: In case of withdrawal of a team after 10 days prior to the race day. the organizer shall keep 75% of the amount paid.

6.3: In case of withdrawal or change of a Rider after 10 days prior to the race day. the Organizer shall charge an additional 2.000 Baht fee per change.

6.4: If. For any reason whatsoever, the Organizer must cancel the Event, all the moneys paid by the teams to the Organizer shall be immediately reinbursed in full.

7. Riders` Equipments:

The Riders shall wear all the necessary equipment to their safety, including:

a. A full face helmet.
b. A racing suit.
c. A pair of Riding gloves
d. A pair of racing boot.

The Organizer offers a whole range of equipment for the Riders wishing to equip themselves on the spot.

Chapter II: general Considerations
Regarding The Race.

1. Race Management Committee:

The members of the Race Management committee are appointed by the Organizer. They shall be responsible for the strict respect of all the regulations contained in the present document. They shall be the only competent authority to manage the Race and to take all the necessary decisions to do so. Their names shall be posted at the Motor Sport Center starting the day before the race day.

The duties of the Race management team shall start on the day before the race day.., the official practice session, and cease at the end of the ceremony of remittance of trophies and prizes at the podium. They shall be approachable in the Race control area by the Team Managers only.

The Team Managers shall have the right to register a protest, but no case shall the authority of the Race Management members be contested.
2. The Event Philosophy :

The Race is open to all Enduro amateurs or semi-professionals, without any restrictions, provided all the Riders have a sufficient level of experience to ensure their and other participants safety an the track.
They cannot be beginners, but at least capable amateurs. More than a simple race.
The 6 hours of Thailand will be an occasion for all Enduro and Cross Riders to meet and challenge one another in a sportive, friendly atmosphere.
3. Safety:

The Organizer shall guarantee a maximum level of safety during the Event. Enduro Bike racing can be dangerous if basic safety regulations are not respected. The participants accepting de facto that the risks exist. Each Rider shall sign a waiver of responsibility of the Organizer in case of accidents during the Event.

5. Practice Session:

The practice session is not mandatory, but the Organizer strongly suggests that each team join it.

Only the duly registered Riders, wearing his Rider Badge, that shall be remitted at the beginning of the day. May take part to the practice session. They shall all the required equipments listed in Chapter 1, Paragraph 7 Riders Equipment.

Safety rules will also apply to practice sessions.

In the event of abundant rain, the organizer reserves the right to temporally suspend the practice session.
6. Briefing:

The briefing of the Riders shall take place on The day before the Race Day at,10.00 All Riders and Team Managers presence are mandatory.

The briefing shall be made in English and Thai.

During the briefing , the Organizer shall remit to the Team Managers all the Race documents and the badges required to participate to the Event. The team Managers shall remit the following to the Organizer:
A copy of the present document duly signed by all the team's Riders.
A waiver of responsibility of the Organizer for any risk inherent to the participation to the Event.

7 Timing:

The Lap timing done via manual accounting and is the organisers' responsibility
8 Alcohol and drugs:

The Riding of a Enduro Bike under the influence of alcohol or an illigal drug is strictiy prohibited. The Organizer shall have the right to proceed to an alcohol test on Riders ready to take their turn. If the control is positive, the Rider shall not be allowed to Ride the Bike and the team shall be penalized.

9 Race Results:

The Race results shall be determined according to the number of laps run by each team during the Race . The winning team shall be the one that have run the largest number of laps.

10 podium:

10.1- Trophies: a team trophy and an individual one shall be awarded to the three teams present on the podium.
10.2- Prizes: The organizer shall remit prizes to the three teams present on the podium

Chapter III: Race Regulations-General Terms

1. Fair play:

The team Manager shall guarantee their Riders, other personel and supporters proper hehavior. The Riders shall behave in a professional manner on the track as well as towards the Race personnel. Politeness and respect are expected. Penalties and sanctions will be otherwise levied.

Any failure to respect the safety regulations or decency on the track and within the Event premises may be sanctioned by the manager of the Race.

2. Passing Regulations:

The passing of a slower Bike ( Rider ) shall be done in the respect of the Bike sporting regulations. It can be done in a straight line or a turn by passing the slower Bike on the left or on the right.

In no case shall a Rider in a position to pass another Bike intentionally push or touch it.
Penalties and sanctions shall be otherwise levied. The Management of the Race shall be particularly attentive and impartial in that matter during the whole duration of the Race.

Fair play and courtesy between responsible Riders is in everybody, s interest and facilitates the passing of slower Bikes. An obviously slower shall not try to resist a passing at any cost by systematically blocking it. On the contrary, he shall open the way to the faster Rider to ensure a safe passing.

Slow Rider may not change his line more than once in the straights, otherwise it is considered as intentional systematic obstruction.
In case of systematic obstruction from a slower Rider, penalties and sanctions shall be levied.

The race management will use the blue flag in case of prolonged obstruction, but will not over-use it. Slower Riders must stay vigilant and not obstruct the race, or could be therefore sanctioned for such.

Last hour of the race the race management will use the blue flag to signal other teams that leaders ( 1 st - 4 th leaders ) are going to pass them.
3. Flags :

The flags are used by the marshals to give certain information to the Riders on the track. All the Riders on the track shall be cautious and follow scrupulously the information communicated by the flags. Penalties and sanctions shall be otherwise levied by the Management of the Race ( please refer to Chapter V, Penalties and Sanctions.)
If only one is waved, it signals an isolated incident. The Rider may not pass a competitor between the location of the flag and the one of the incident. Any failure to observe that regulation shall be penalized.
If all the yellow flag are waved, it signals a major incident. Any passing is prohibited on the track until the green flags are waved.
The waving of green flags signal that the incident has ended and the track wide open. Passing may resume.
The blue flag signals a Rider that a Race leader is ready to pass him and that he must open the way. Any failure to do so may be penalized. The race management will use this flag as seldom as possible, and will more rely on the vigilance and fair play of the Riders.
This flag, together + a Bike number, signals a warning
This flag, together + a Bike + a sign Stop & Go, signals the Rider he must immediately go to the pit lane area for a Stop & Go , Penalty.
This flag , together with a Bike number, signals that that particular Rider is temporally excluded- or definitely in case of recidivism – and that he must immediately go to his pit for a change – over of Rider. The team Manager will have been informed before so that he can preparing the Rider change- over.
This flag signals that the Race is temporarily stopped. The Rider must immediately slow down and may not pass competitors. They must stop their Bike at the place indicated by the manager of the race without changing their position. When the manager of the Race decides that the race can be resumed, the Rider shall proceed in the same order as when they stopped. During the whole time, change – over of Rider, refueling, technical pit stop is prohibited, except if the Manager of Race formally agrees.
At the end of the 12 th hour of race. The checkered flag shall signals the end of the race for each Bike crossing the Finish Line . As long as the Bikes have not crossed it, the result of the Race is not definite and passing is allowed.
3. Bike immobilized on the track:

If a Bike is immobilized on the track for any reason whatsoever, the Rider must put it out of the normal racing line, ideally on the aside the track. To do so , he may use the assistance of marshals.

One marshal shall then wave the yellow flag. The Rider shall wait for the arrival of the technical staff. When it has arrived:

* Either the problem can be fixed easily and rapidly on the spot, in which case the Rider may resume racing.
* Or the repair requires that the Bike pushed, with the Rider on board or towed to the repair area in case of a mechanical problem.
* To the Rider change – over area in case the Rider is hurt. In case the Rider cannot continue racing because of his injury, a member of the team is authorized to Ride the Bike to the Rider change – over area.

* In case the Rider cannot continue the race because of his injury or Bike mechanical problem, an new Rider shall enter the race after a 12 minute Penalty in the Pit Lane.
4. Ambulance on the Track:

In case of a serious accident requiring an ambulance on the track, the red flag shall be waved and the Race temporarily stopped.

5. Protests :

Only the Team Managers are allowed to lodge a protest with the Management of the Race . The protests must be justified by an actual racing occurrence of an importance sufficient enough to have a significant effect on the current race positioning: in no situation a minor occurrence can be accepted as ground of protest ( denied protest ).

1. All denied protests will be logged on the race log book; no follow up will be given . In the event of abnormally repetitive denied protests by a same team. The race management will be entitled to pronounce a penalty.

2. Procedure for logging protest: The protest must be:
Entered in the Race Log Book by the manager of the Race.
Signed by the team Manager.
Accompanied by a deposit of 2 000 Baht.

The Race Management decision shall be final and all attempts to intimidate its members shall be sanctioned.

If the Management of the Race answers favorably to a team, s claim, the 2 000 Baht deposit shall be returned to the Team Manager. In the opposite case, the deposit shall not be returned.

6. Start and Finish Procedure:

6.1 Start

AT 07.50, the Bikes' shall be positioned on the Starting grid, by the Rider's ( Personnel )
The start shall be signaled by the Organizer, s flag marshals.

5 Minutes Board : all non –racing people shall leave the track. Riders who take part of the start shall be ready at their positions.

3 Minutes Board : the engine shall be started by the Riders.

1 Minute Board : Riders must be ready to start.

The start will be signaled. At that moment, the race is started.

The first laps are always risky, with a high possibility of incidents and collisions. The Management of the Race advises the Riders to be extremely cautious, reminding them that this is a 8 hour race and that; consequently, their position the first laps is not crucial for the final result.

Green flags waived on the track will confirm that the start is completed.

In case of irregularity, all the red flags be waved and a new start shall taken place. The Bikes' at fault shall be positioned at the back of the grid.

Re start:

In case the race has been stopped for any reason, a new start will be launched as following:
  • The race shall be stopped under red flags;
  • The Bikes' will stop in the pit lane ; all Bikes' must keep his position regarding the others.
  • Riding duration countdown of all Riders will be stopped until the race resume.
  • Riders are allowed to leave their Bike only if the race management shows a board Long interruption.
  • Riders are not allowed to leave their Bikes' if the race management shows a board Short interruption.
  • 3 minutes prior to the start, the race management will show a board Race resume, Riders must be ready to re-start racing.

    Finish:

    At the end of the 8 hour, the checkered flag shall signal the end of the Race to all the Riders reaching the Finish Line.
7. Priority Regulation:

In case the Organizer's technical personal is overwhelmed with interventions, the two following rules shall apply.

1. Priority shall be given to mechanical failures upon interventions required because of an accident or collision.
2. The FIFO ( First in - First out ) rule shall be applied.
3. However, the above rules may be changed by decision of the Technical Manager, in which case the teams may not raise an objection.
8. Entry in and Riding on the pit lane:

A reasonable speed is required in the pit lain; overtaking another Bike is strictly forbidden
.
9. Rider Change – over Procedure:

Each Rider will get a badge with bare-code identification. Definitions :

1). Rider who enters the race: Rider IN
2). Riders who leaves the race: Rider OUT


A Rider on the track who is ready to be changed over shall signal the other Riders by raising his arm. The non-respect of this regulation shall be penalized or sanctioned.

The Rider IN shall arrive in the change-over area wearing his Rider's badge. His identity shall be controlled. Only one Rider per team may access the area at one time.

In case a problem is observed, the Rider IN shall not be allowed access. He may then either correct the problem accordingly or be replaced by another Rider.

When a Rider IN is ready to enter the race , his badge is swiped by laser readers.
When the Rider OUT leave the Bike, his badge is swiped.

His Riding duration timing shall stop.

The Riding duration timing of the Rider IN shall start.
The Riders are asked to be cautious while exiting the pit lane: do not cut trajectory of ongoing Bikes'.
10. Maximum Riding Duration (Time):

The Rider duration of a Rider IN will start when the badge of previous Rider OUT is swiped by laser reader; It will ended when his badge will be swiped as Rider OUT when he will be replaced by a new Rider IN.

This duration may not exceed over 60 Minutes. ( 60 consecutive minutes).
A Rider may not run in two consecutive relays.
Only the following occurrences shall cause a deduction in the calculation of the Riding duration:

a. The immobilizations under the red flag.
b. The immobilization of the Bike for technical matters: the race management can decide to not apply a penalty in case of over time duration.
11. Signaling Boards:

Board signaling to Rider on the track shall be done only in the authorized area, witch is market by two orange flags. The non – respect of this regulation shall be penalized or sanctioned.

A complete Board signaling kit shall be remitted to each team during the briefing.

Team can also use radio communication between Pit team and service members,
NOT THE Riders.

Chapter V: Penalties and Sanctions:

List of the Penalties and Sanctions:

1. Absence to the qualification sessions:
Start at the back of the grid.

2. Absence at the briefing of a Team Manager or his authorized reprehensive:
Start at the back of the grid.

3. Timing transponder missing or lost:
Laps not counted.

4. Non –respect of required conditions for a Rider IN :
Rider IN not allowed starting.

5. Systematic blocking of a faster Rider trying to pass:
20 – seconds Stop & Go.

6. Passing under yellow flags:
20 – seconds Stop & Go.

7. Non – respect of the blue flag:
20 – seconds Stop & Go

8. Non – respect of the black & white flag + Bike Number + Board Stop & Go:
5 – minute Stop & Go for the next Rider. Possible exclusion of the Rider OUT at fault by decision of the Manager of the Race.

9. Non – respect of the black flag:
Exclusion of the Rider, whose laps shall not be counted (neutralization of the transponder ).

10. Non – respect of the red flags:
5 – minutes Stop & Go . Possible exclusion of the Rider at fault by decision of the Manager of the Race.

11. Speeding in the pit lane:
20 – seconds Stop & Go.

12. Dangerous behavior of a Rider on the track:
20 – Stop & Go.

13. Over maximum Riding Duration 60 minute :
15 minutes Stop & Go.

14. Board signaling outside of the authorized area:
20 – seconds Stop & Go.

15. Systematic non – respect of a regulation:
Exclusion of the Rider or of the team.

16. Voluntary behavior to disturb the proper happening of the Event:
Stop & Go ( 5 minutes ) or Exclusion of the Rider or of the team.

17. The Management of the Race may impose penalties and sanctions for cases not listed here above.

18. Some penalties could be given after the race if needed.

Stop & Go Procedure:

The Rider under a Stop & Go penalty shall immediately Ride to the ( jail area )
At the pit lane. He shall start his timing device and shall be allowed to start again at the end of the penalty time. A countdown clock watch will display the remaining time before the Rider is allowed to re – start.

The regulations pertaining to Riding on the pit lane are applicable during that procedure. In case of excessive speed, the Rider shall return to the lane after one lap for a new Stop & Go.
Exclusion of a Rider:

A Rider who has been excluded is not allowed to Ride again during the Race. However, he may assist his team members under the condition that he behaves properly. Otherwise, he shall be expelled from the circuit premises.

A Rider who has been excluded shall not be reimbursed of his participation fee.
Exclusion of a team:

The exclusion of a team is a serious matter. Therefore, for the best interest of all and everybody, all the team members shall immediately leave the circuit premises.

A team that has been excluded shall not be reimbursed of its participation fee.

Prior to taking part in the race on Saturday and Sunday, all Riders must sign both this regulation form and an official risk waiver accepting the risk inherent to any race.
